31 Day Lettering Challenge 2022

About: In September of 2022, @aureliemaron released a 31 day challenge list #letteringstylechallenge on instagram for all lettering artists/designers to participate in for the month of October. Each day was a different prompt and what I loved about it was that instead of a quote or saying to do, it was instead to based it on a particular type style which opened it up to unlimited possibilities in what people would come up with for each day. I decided to take on that challenge and I really enjoyed creating every single one of them. It helped with creativity and getting outside of my comfort zone, for example, the blackletter prompt. Took me awhile to figure that one out.

For those wondering what program(s) I used, it was mostly Adobe Illustrator and sometimes I would use Procreate to figure out the look of the letters (script) and then create it in Illustrator. I also used Adobe Photoshop for my "Adventure Awaits" post.

Insert: About seven years ago, I started doing more personal lettering as well as Instagram challenges to motivate myself in exploring different techniques and styles to help improve and grow my skills as a Graphic Designer. As a designer, I don’t get to be nearly as creative in my work, so this is a great outlet to be myself. I am finding that doing things in my own way is allowing me to be more imaginative and so much more fun! To see more detailed descriptions on each lettering piece, you can read them on my Instagram.

All Lettering Designs (except the words "Van Gogh") are custom-made and made from scratch and created in Adobe Illustrator using the Pen Tool.
